Junior Controls Specialist

Our company focus is to provide quality automated solutions including robotic cells and various automated equipment. We are currently looking for a Junior Controls Specialist to fit within our team and compliment our full design and build capabilities.

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary certification in related field
  • Clean vehicle driving record with 3 years’ experience & 3 years insurance history
  • Legal ability to work in Canada, USA and Mexico
  • Valid passport and must be willing and able to travel locally, throughout the USA and Mexico

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Configuring and programming automation and controls systems using PLC, HMI, Robotic and AI based vision systems
  • Commission automation systems at the machine builder and final customer facilities
  • Troubleshoot PLC, robot, and other automation problems
  • Provide detailed documentation throughout each project
  • Manage project hours/time tracking with management
  • Assist with controls design and design updates
  • Adherence to safety codes

General Understanding Preferred:

  • Programming all controls related devices, including but not restricted to:
    • PLC & HMIs (Rockwell, Siemens, Omron)
    • Vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Omron)
    • AI Vision systems (C++ based programming)
    • Barcode scanners and printers (Zebra, Keyence, Cognex, Honeywell)
    • Smart sensors (IO link devices, IFM, Balluff etc.)
    • Welding equipment (Telsonic, Hermann, Dukane)
  • Programming knowledge of various robots including but not restricted to:
    • Fanuc
    • Nachi
    • ABB
    • Motoman
